Awesome Animals day 3 Summer learning Journey!!!

Did you know that New Zealand has very unusual Animals? We have unusual animals like:

• The Kiwi Bird.

• Leasser Shorter - Tailed Bat.

• Hamiltons frog.

The kiwi bird is the nation’s sweetheart. However, you won’t just find them wandering the streets and stealing your fries. These elusive nocturnal birds mostly live in forested areas. Check out how to spot these iconic birds in Where to See Kiwi Birds in New Zealand. The kiwi only comes out at night, so to the kiwi you have to wait until it is dark then you can go into the forest. The Kiwi can also be seen in arana park, in the dark room where they live.

Summer Learning Prep One!!!

Hey everyone it's Chloe, today I am going to tell you some facts about my country I picked and why I picked it. Out of 10 countries I picked mexico, I picked mexico because I have always wondered about mexico, so I am going to tell you about mexico. 
The capital city of mexico is mexico city. I never new that there was a city called mexico city. 

The population of the capital city is 119.5 million people that is so many people.

In January the weather is usually like the coolest time of the whole year. 

The capital city is located in  northern part of mexico. 

The most common language they speech in mexico city is spanish,  link to how I got it.

Part two of Pet Day!!!

Hey everyone, its Chloe here and I am back with another blog post. So I blogged about the morning of pet day and I will now tell you about what happened in the afternoon. 

In the afternoon all the animals usually come around about 1:30 - 1:45 so when they are coming the school is doing some activities. So I am going to tell you about the animals and here are some photos:

This is Rebecca's dog he was really fluffy his name was jimmy.

This is the part of the day were we got to the sheep named missy get shared, she was really

fluffy and cute.

This Hunter and his cat named Louie but I call him Louis Vuitton. Hunter has a cat behind him and that is his sisters cat named Chloe but Karlie changed it to Gucci.  

 Gucci and Louis Vuitton were a lot like each other they were so fluffy and cute. 

Do you have a pet cat?

This here is Bridget and Karlie , Karlie is a horse she is a grey horse. Bridget loves to ride Karlie, Karlie was dressed like a drey unicorn she was so cute, Bridget was riding her most of the time.

This was when this guy came to our school with his dog named Dee, they were doing duck herding,

it was so cool to watch. Dee was 6 years old and they said that it would have been too hard to get sheep over to our school so they brought ducks and a dog named Dee.

Our Class Sailing Day!!!

Here is my recount for Sailing Day:

Sailing day was phenomenal we all had so much fun. We helped  out, we got to sail we all had
some fun. Some people fellout of the boats we all tried to have some fun but the boats were so
hard. I had never been sailing before I was scared there were so many things that we had to
learn. We had to make the boat and also learn how to sail the boat we had so much fun when
we all went into the water. I think that you guys should all try sailing it is so much fun. My boat was as cute as a baby unicorn.

Firstly in the morning we all had to come in what we were going to wear in the water. We then
got on the bus at 9:00  and we drove to Lake Rua we got there and we had to learn how to put
up the boats. We had to learn next how to control the boat and where to sit and what to do
and I think that if you wanted to learn how to do things like sailing you should go to these people.
I learned that you could see where to sit and if you are turning you have to go underneath the
sail.

Then we had some morning tea and we had so much fun when we had a break time.When we
went into the water I help get people in and out of the boats. When I had a turn I was so
confused I had no Idea why the boat was turning so much. When I got out I was so relieved. This is as scary as a spider, I had 1 go after that but  did not do it again, I think that it was even more fun in the water and helping the adults with the boats. Then we had to go and have some lunch.

After that we all went and played we played with some balls and a cricket set.

We had so much fun that day and when we had to leave ai was sad it was so much fun. We h
ad to get changed in the containers and it was so dirty in there. We were so dirty after. But
when we got out we rubbed our feet on the grass and then it came off of our feet. Then we
went back to school and then we got picked up by our parents. I think that friday was a really
good day. This day was like the day I first saw a snake. It was so fun but so scary at the same
time.

Wearable arts sense last term!!!

So this term I'm getting better at designing my wearable art outfit.  My group have been making a nature meets ocean dress. It will have a present bow on it and it will have some real bottles attached to the dress. It will be really cool and pretty. When we finish the dress then I will put up a picture. here is our dress from our drawing.

Our wearable art!!!

My class Ki O Rahi tournament!!!

Who went to the Ki O Rahi Tournament? Last week on Friday I went to Gillberthorpes school and we had a Ki O Rahi tournament we had so much fun and go and also check them out on their blog. We had 4 games and We versed south Hornby, Gillberthorpes and Hornby Primary. We had 2 teams and I was in team one, with my best friend Parwin and Julia. We won 2 games and also drew one game, I will explain how the game works down below.

So one team is called ki oma and the other one is Tani fa, then you had a circle that is surrounded by po and there is also tupu in the middle and there is a circle of comes in the around it and it is water there is also thick things that look like a bridge that you have to walk through to get to the tupu then you throw the ball up in the air and try to catch it and then one of the teams throw the ball to the tupu to try and get a point and the other team tries to get tries and to do that the circle   around the tupu you put the ball in the circle. 

My writing Goals!!!

Hi everyone today I'm blogging about my writing goals and they are so much fun. We had a 10 minute writing challenge today and after we got given shets well they were actually just laminated paper things there will be some photo's down below. I will be asking some questions, so what happened was that we had to go on a table or stay on the carpet but we had a timer and we had to write a story in that time. Our Inquiry Journey!!!

Hey everyone today, I am going to do a blog post and I am going to talk to use about Our Inquiry and there will be some photos and questions. So we have been learning and waste not want and a waste of time, we all have a group there are 6 groups and I am in group 3 and we had an activity yesterday and we had to write down some facts about a topic and we started with dangerous waste and it was really fun to do. And then after about a few minutes, we had to swop papers with other groups and we had to give them to group 4 and it was so much fun and then after we had to so a PMI which is how we worked and P stands for Positive, M stands for Mineses, I stands for Improvements. Our Class Trip to the eco store, drop and sort!!!

On 22nd of August, we went to the Eco Store, Drop and also the Sort. It was so much fun,  we played games, we also learnt the 5 R's and it was so much fun to go to. Also we went to the Eco Store and did this challenge where we had to go and find things that we would need to use if we were flatting,  and we also had to make sure that everything that we pretended to buy all together had to be under $500. I was peered with Mia, We also learnt that it was better to buy a really big bag of chips or popcorn, than buy 13 small bags of popcorn in one big bag. Here are some photos of what we learnt at the place. We also had 2 groups for the day and we had one that went in the morning and one in the afternoon, I went in the morning one because I had a speech competition. Here are the photos:

My tiny house!!!

so refugee is our new book because we finished posted and it was such a good book so refugee is about these three kids named Josef, Isabel, Mahmoud. Josef is the Jewish boy living in the 1930s Nazi Germany. with the threat concentration camps looming, he and his family board a ship bound for the other of the world...

Isabel is a Cuban girl in 1994. With riots and unrest plaguing her country, she and her family set of out on a raft, hoping to find safety in America...

Mahmoud is a Syrian boy in 2015. With his homeland torn apart by violence and destruction, he and his family begin a long treck towards Europe... here is the video.

Term 2 reflection

What’s worked well this term?

This term what I think has worked well this term is that my levels have been going up and that
I have been focusing lots on my work and that I did lots of maths, reading and writing. Maths was really
good and I have been challenging myself in maths a lot with all the investigations and they were really
challenging they also had challenges in the investigations. Writing was really good this term and my
writing was getting really good I went from writing at the start of the 250 words to about 400 and over so
I can really see that I am improving in my writing lots and writing has worked really well for me.
Reading was really good this term and it was working well because I could see that everyday I was
improving my reading and I was getting all my reading work all done and I think next term I will be even
better with all three of those subjects than I was this term.

What I am proud of this term?

I am proud of lots of things this term because I have been doing lots of things this term and most of the
time I was doing things that I could get done before friday and they were really cool. The things that I
did in my long writes the things I made up were really cool they were so good and they sometimes
catch the readers eye and they are really cool and fun to read. Reading was really good this term do
I think next term I should think about doing better because I do think that I am still sounding like a robot
 but I am really good at reading.

How have I shown my YMS Hero qualities (when/how)?

I have shown my yms qualities at school a lot and it is really cool that if I look back and see what I
did in the first term than I can see that there was a really big change in my hero qualities and myself.
I have shown my hero qualities in the playground, the classroom, to friends and so many more places
in the school I think that my hero qualities have been really good this term and I think that I will be very
good next term as well. This term I think they have been really good because I have been doing heaps
of my work and so they are my hero qualities.

Are there some things that haven’t gone well for you this term?

I don’t think I have had anything gone wrong this term and why I think nothing has gone wrong is
because I don’t think there was anything I did wrong so that is why I think there is nothing that has gone
wrong this term with me. This term has been a good term for me and nothing has gone wrong this term.
I don’t think there has been any drama about me this term.

What challenged me and how did I work through the challenge?

I had a challenge in my maths investigation and I worked through it by just working the question out and
then I did it. I worked the question out by just doing maths and then I got the right answer. I got a
challenge in writing to but I got through the writing challenge. The challenge was that I did not have more
than 250 words so I did not know what to do but then I worked it out and also I had nothing in my head that I could write son I tried to write something and then it came into my head I knew what to write and
so then I write it down and I worked it out.

What is my goal for next term?

My goal next term is to do really good at reading and not sound like a robot. My writing goal is to do
more than 500  words next term and I really need to work on my punctuation in my writing and I need
to finish writing good with ispace as well. My maths needs to be worked on as well because I need to
finish my investigation and do the challenges really good do that I can have my reward time and then
also I need to work on my maths really good because I have not been keeping up with my maths whizz.

My newspaper report ( need some feedback ).

Hi everyone, it's Chloe today I'm going to show you guys some things I did on this site and it was to make a newspaper report so here are some photos to show you what I have done so far and I would like some feedback to see what else I should put in my newspaper article and I hope you guys give me some ideas of what I should add to my newspaper and then I will add them in and I have two pages to fill and when I have checked my post in a couple of days I will make the newspaper and then I  post some new photo's of my newspaper when it is finished. I would also like to know if you guys have any sites that you would use to make a newspaper and then I will trie them and see if they work for me. I would like to know what you think it looks like a newspaper and what kind of things you want to read in my newspaper report if you ever get one and read it.

So this week I have been doing an investigation this is a screencastify of what my investigation looks like the investigation is called Adam's Watch  it is for my group called the algebros and the investigation has other people in my groups work so I am going to be doing something to let other people to learn how this works and don't worry about the background  noises it is my class.

Hi everyone it's chloe last week we went on camp to woodend camp and it was fun so I am going to show some pictures, things we did, what food we had and what we did at bed times,  we did things at bed time because we had 30 minutes to do what ever we want and we did some cool things like
